Summary:
The Director of Education oversees all academic activities of the institution, ensuring the provision of quality education and services to students.
This role involves maintaining compliance with national accreditation and state regulations, as well as ensuring a competent and credentialed faculty.
Collaboration with various departments is essential for the daily operations and strategic planning of the college.
Essential Duties and
Responsibilities:
Oversee day-to-day academic operations, including faculty hiring and termination, program evaluations, faculty meetings, and student counseling.
Monitor equipment and supplies, maintain and update the LMS system (Blackboard), contribute to policy and procedure development, manage retention percentages within budget limits, approve staff time sheets, and assist in the budget process.
Develop and oversee curriculum updates for existing programs and the implementation of new programs.
Maintain program calendars in coordination with program directors and general education instructors.
Maintain professionalism with instructional staff, attend school functions and special events, and complete tasks and projects as required.
Supervisory
Responsibilities:
Manage academic program directors, instructors, student services staff, associate director of career services and administrative support staff.
Hire instructors, provide professional development workshops, conduct class observations, prepare performance evaluations, maintain faculty records, and supervise faculty meetings.
Qualifications:
Master's Degree preferred; or four to ten years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Strategic thinking, strong language, planning/organizational, reasoning, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
Ability to analyze technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents, respond to inquiries/complaints, and present information effectively.
Ability to prioritize tasks, establish goals/objectives, and adapt strategies to changing conditions.
Willingness to work within a diverse and dynamic environment.
