The Counter Sales Associate is responsible for our sales counter at one of our established wholesale HVAC distributorships that carries multiple brands of equipment, parts and supplies. This position sells a wide variety of parts to phone and walk-in customers, performs clerical and back order functions as required and may fill in for the warehouse when needed. The ultimate goal of this role is to provide strong customer service in a sales oriented setting.
o Represent the Company as a leader in the industry ensuring maximum sales.
o Interact with internal and outside sales people, vendors and contractors.
o Service walk-in and telephone customers and assist with sourcing and shipping parts, inventory control and warranty administration.
o Provide customer product and service needs by researching products via computer system, catalog, telephone or other reference sources.
o Arrange stock on shelves or racks in sales area and keeps merchandise in order.
o Apply suggestive selling techniques and up sells to current and prospective customers.
o Follows up on all orders to assure that customers receive prompt, efficient service.
o Responsible for showroom merchandising and re-stocking product.
o Assist in resolving customer relations problems with both dealers and end users.
o When required, provide customer service or call-ins after normal working hours.
o Keeps Management informed on matters of importance regarding customer service.
o Complete sales order process for customers with efforts to up-sell associated items.
o Contributes to a team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
o Serve as a backup driver or warehouse personnel when needed.
o Perform other duties as assigned.
o Minimum 1+ year experience in a Counter Sales role, preferably in the HVAC industry.
o Experience in a wholesale HVAC equipment supply house preferred.
o Effective communication, both verbally and in writing
o Knowledge of air conditioning, heating and ventilation equipment at a wholesale distribution level.
o Proven success in sales and providing excellent customer service.
o Strong interpersonal skills including sales, problem solving and customer service focus absolutely required.
o Ability to work independently, but meet assigned goals and objectives in designated time frames.
o Capable of working in a fast paced environment with skills to multi-task on different levels.
o Must possess the attitude of wanting to learn and grow with our Company.
o Knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
o Good organizational skills
o High school diploma or GED is required and some college coursework is preferred
